Here's a roundup of stories on issues of constitutional order in a number of countries:
1. This past week, the Guardian has had a number of articles and opeds criticizing a variety of Big Society proposals. For some, see here, here, here, and here.
2. While the revolutionary events in Libya receive the most news these days, other countries in the Middle East face constitutional challenges. This past week, the King of Morocco, Mohammed VI, gave a speech promising to create an ad hoc constitutional committee that will propose a number of key constitutional reforms that will ultimately be brought to the people in a referendum. His speech (in an English version), may be found here. Le Monde is one of the few papers to have covered the event, publishing an article (behind the paywall) on March 9.
3. Meanwhile, although most coverage suggests that the revolutions of the Middle East will not spread to China, the Chinese government has increased its efforts to silence human rights advocates (see also the updates provided by Human Rights in China, here) and has also begun to target foreign journalists.
4. And finally, in slightly older news, the right to universal suffrage continues to be mooted in constitutional debates in Hong Kong.
